Tuesday afternoon sees TMW report, according to their own information, that Leeds United are moving forward with efforts to sign Omar Colley.
The 28-year-old extended his contract with Sampdoria earlier this year and his new deal lasts until June 2025. There’s no mention of a transfer fee at this stage, although when a move to the Premier League was rumoured during the last market a potential fee was put at around €10-15m.
According to the claims, Leeds United have made a ‘concrete survey’ in ‘recent days’ over the signing. That likely means they’ll have contacted the player’s representatives or his club to ask about a possible move, finding out about desired transfer fee and wage levels.
Interestingly, TMW say Colley obtained a work permit in February, which it’s stated would make it easier for him to move to Elland Road. Of course, without an actual job offer in the UK he wouldn’t be able to complete a work permit process, so it’s possible what TMW mean is that his representatives have taken advice on the likelihood of the paperwork being obtainable.
