Leeds United look set miss out on Norwegian youngster Abdul-Basit Agouda, after his agent confirmed he’s on the verge of joining Stabæk.

The 18 year old is currently without a club after his contract with Strømsgodset expired at the start of this month.

DT have reported on comments Atta Aneke has made when asked about the future of the Leeds United target: “It’s true that we are talking to Stabæk regarding a transition for Abdul-Basit. We’ve agreed on his personal terms, but there are still a few things Strømsgodset and Stabæk must discuss before we get a deal.”

In November we covered reports that Leeds United travelled to Finland to watch Agouda play for Norway’s U18s. The youngster scored in his side’s 4-0 victory over Finland.

It’s been claimed Agouda has turned down two contract proposals from his club, and it seemed Leeds United would be moving in on the young forward. DT reconfirm the Championship side were in the race for the player.

Leeds United had been reported in the past few days to be closing in on a deal for the player, but that looks to have collapsed.

The 18 year old has concerns about the lack of games he’s been getting with his club, and wasn’t involved in Strømsgodset’s final games of last season.
