Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci looks set for another ban after picking up a yellow card at the weekend. The 27-year-old is currently on loan with Serie A side Empoli.
Empoli Channel have revealed Bellusci could be handed his second ban of the season after picking up ten yellow cards this season. The Leeds United loanee was cautioned at the weekend during the 1-1 draw with Torino in the 59th minute.
Bellusci’s fate is now in the hands of the Italian football authorities, but it looks very likely he’ll miss the trip to the San Siro next weekend when Empoli take on Inter Milan.
The defender’s discipline on the pitch this season has been poor, seeing him pick up ten yellow cards in the league, including seven cautions in as many games.
The Leeds United man has one of the worst discipline records in Serie A this season, and has already served a ban after being cautioned against AS Roma earlier in the campaign.
Bellusci joined Leeds United from Catania in 2014, but it always seemed he had a desire to return to Italy. The player came in for flak last season from the Leeds United fans for his performances, which led to speculation he would return to his home country.
Bellusci was replaced at Leeds United by Pontus Jansson, and his discipline recorded mirrors that of the Italian. However, the Elland Road faithful have taken the Swede to their hearts, unlike Bellusci.
