Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci has told the Italian media he needs on work on his disciplinary record. The 27-year-old is currently on loan at Empoli from Leeds United, but has already picked up ten yellow cards since returning to Italy.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of this weekend’s games the defender was asked about his discipline, and how he felt his move to Empoli from Leeds had gone. Bellusci is finding it hard to avoid trouble because of his style of play, but is still enjoying himself back in Italy.
“Yes, it’s true, I’ve been given a lot (of yellow cards) and I know I have to work on this but I can’t change the way I play and my attitude on the pitch. For now I can say that I am satisfied,” said the Leeds United loanee.
Last weekend Bellusci served his second ban of the season after becoming the first player in Serie A to reach double figures for bookings. Despite these issues the central defender has been one of Empoli’s standout players a permanent transfer from Leeds United is a possibility in the summer.
With the recent confirmation Pontus Jansson has committed himself to Leeds United it’s unlikely Bellusci will be in Garry Monk’s future plans.
