FC Utrecht midfielder Zakaria Labyad has told the Dutch media he would be interested in a move to Ajax.
It was reported at the weekend the Leeds United linked player was ready to turn down the opportunity to the Dutch giants.
Speaking to Voetbal International, Labyad was asked if he would be interested in a transfer to Ajax: “It remains a nice club of course… If I can play there, it would be nice.”
Yesterday we covered reports from the Dutch press that Labyad was ready to turn down a move to Ajax because he wanted to look at other options.
Leeds United have reportedly been watching the 25 year old when checking up on Mateusz Klich, and they’ve been impressed with the Morocco international.
Klich was loaned to FC Utrecht in the last transfer window after failing to make an impact since his arrival at Elland Road.
It would be an ambitious move by Leeds United to land the former PSV and Sporting Lisbon midfielder, and despite recent claims it seems he would be happy to remain in the Netherlands if Ajax came in for him.
Unless he’s just being diplomatic.
