Leeds United have been linked with Bari defender Valerio Di Cesare, but they could face competition from Serie B side Hellas Verona to sign the 33-year-old this summer. The veteran could leave Bari in this transfer window, and his agent has stated the player is in high demand.

TMW have reported Verona are looking to recruit this summer as they expect to lose key players. Verona were relegated to Serie B last season, which has led to players leaving the club, including former Italy international Luca Toni.

Bari are keen to strengthen in defence, and Di Cesare is on their wanted list along with Empoli’s Michele Camporese. Bari are also hoping to bring in Inter Milan midfielder Daniel Bessa.

Leeds United are also interested in signing Di Cesare this window following claims in Italy the Championship want the former Chelsea youth player to replace the departed Giuseppe Bellusci.

Di Cesare’s agent has confirmed Leeds United are tracking his client, but revealed other clubs are also keen on the central defender.
