Today is a very important day for AS Roma, who need to make sure their books are balanced, as they look to finalise some deals.
As well as sales, the Serie A side are trying to bring in reinforcements, including Leeds United’s Diego Llorente, who was on loan with them for the second part of last season.
Voce Giallorossa have an update on the matter, and recall what has been said in the past, in that Roma do not want to pay the €18m that was pre-agreed in the January deal.
They have been working with Leeds ‘on the basis of a new loan’, with the Elland Road side wanting a ‘purchase obligation’ to be included in the new temporary transfer based on a number of appearances.
The amount stands at €6-7m, which is far more reasonable, but the outlet also adds the Spaniard has ‘other offers’ that have arrived for him.
Leeds ‘would like to monetise’ his exit, meaning that if they can’t get Roma to agree to their terms, they have options elsewhere that could benefit them.
The player, down his end, has made it clear that he was happy in Rome, and certainly doesn’t have the intention of going back to Yorkshire to play in the Championship next season if he can avoid it.
