Nahitan Nandez is being brought back into the picture for Leeds United.
The Cagliari player has been linked with a move to the Whites for quite some time, with claims around the January window about a potential offer from the Premier League club.
Now, La Nuova Sardegna report, via Gazzetta dello Sport’s Palermo page, that Leeds United ‘insist’ on signing the Uruguayan, during the current transfer window.
The claims are very strong and brief.
It’s claimed Marcele Bielsa is ready for ‘economic madness’ to ensure he gets the player he wants. That would see Leeds paying the full release clause to Cagliari, meaning sending €36m to the Serie A side.
Such a figure seems huge for the 25-year-old, and Leeds would surely try to get him out of Italy for a lower amount than that. Nevertheless, the claims sound serious and this will be one to keep an eye on in the coming days and weeks.
Nandez played 32 matches for Cagliari last season, in various midfield roles, scoring two goals and adding three assists.
