These days, football transfers often involve private jet flights, where the buying club send an aircraft over to pick up their new product.
Rasmus Kristensen is doing things another way, and at the same time winning fans in the media around AS Roma.
Friday’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport reports the Leeds United player hopped on a scheduled flight on Thursday evening, after paying for his own ticket and without instruction from Roma.
He informed the Serie A club of his trip just before the flight, and thankfully they’ve welcomed it. Corriere report the player is set to undergo his medical tests today and will then sign his Roma contract.
Kristensen is moving on an outright loan with no buying option.
It’s his attitude, though, which is the big story in Rome.
Corriere dello Sport say he can’t wait to join the club, and private jets with airport selfies isn’t his style, he simply has a ‘great desire’ to swap Leeds United for AS Roma.
Getting the local media onside is a good way to start… especially at a club as emotionally followed as Roma.
