Leeds United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Huesca forward Samu Saiz following reports the Spanish side have signed PSV’s Boris Cmiljanić. Leeds United have been linked with Saiz in the past few days, as they look to bolster their attacking options this summer.
Voetbal International have confirmed Cmiljanić has signed a three-year contract with Huesca after struggling to force his way into the PSV team.
The 20-year-old arrived in Holland in 2014, but he never made an appearance for the senior team. The youngster did however did play nearly 30 games for Jong PSV in the Dutch second division.
These latest developments will give Leeds United encouragement with regards landing Saiz in this window, as Cmiljanić could be seen as a replacement for the Spaniard.
Saiz only has a €500k buyout clause in his contract with Huesca, and subsequently they will find it difficult to keep the forward at the club for next season.
Leeds United will face competition from Leicester City to sign Saiz, along with other Spanish sides.
