Leeds United have been linked with a move for Werder Bremen goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald, and they could be going up against Nantes in the race for the 27-year-old.

Weser Kurier have reported Wiedwald wants to leave Werder Bremen this summer, and a number of clubs are showing an interest, including Leeds United and Nantes.

With the uncertainty over the future of Marco Silvestri at the Championship side they may need to bring in an experienced keeper this summer to compete with current No.1 Rob Green.

Silvestri has been linked with a move back to Italy in recent weeks due to only having 12 months left on his Leeds United contract. Also with Green not getting any younger, Leeds United may need to look to the future, and Wiedwald is an option.

However, Leeds United could face competition from Nantes as Claudio Ranieri looks to strengthen his squad before the deadline. Ranieri was recently installed as the new manager of the Ligue 1 side, after being touted as one of a sequence of favourites to replace Garry Monk.
