Hamburg are the latest club to join the race to sign NEC star Anthony Limbombe, according to claims in the Dutch media. The 21-year-old is expected to leave NEC this summer in order to progress his career, and was recently linked with a move to Leeds United.
Votebal Krant have revealed Hamburg are interested in Limbombe, and could look to take advantage of his situation at NEC.
The Dutch side are currently experiencing financial difficulties, and may need to sell their prize asset in this transfer window. The Belgian expressed his desire to leave NEC last season, and he recently handed in a transfer request.
Hamburg are looking to strengthen their squad this summer after the Bundesliga giants finished a disappointing 10th in the table last season.
The German side have struggled in recent campaigns, and the club’s leaders realise they need to bring in reinforcements in order to make them a force again.
It’s been well documented in the last 12 months Leeds United are keen to bring in Limbombe following their attempts to sign him in the last two transfer windows.
Recent claims in the Netherlands suggest Leeds United are still interested in the youngster, and his agent confirmed to us several weeks ago a move to England is a possibility for his client.
