If you’re a Manchester United fan, things have not been great this season.
Jose Mourinho has seen his side get knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of Derby County and days later, suffer a 3-1 defeat against West Ham United. Their latest loss was the Red Devils’ third defeat in the Premier League this season and they’ve collected 10 points after seven matches.
The 20-time English champions will host Valencia in the second group stage fixture of the Champions League on Tuesday and the visitors have conceded only three goals and have kept four clean sheets in the last six games played in all competitions.
Pablo Hernández is the only Los Che player who has scored against the Old Trafford club in the Champions League and the La Liga club’s official website claims that has made him the fan favourite at his current club, Leeds United.
The former Valencia man has backed Marcelino’s side to beat the English giants and add more misery on Mourinho and United in the process.
Asked about the record of being the first player to score against United, the Championship player said: “An honour, it’s an anecdote because great players in the history of Valencia CF have scored goals in important matches and stadiums, but the circumstances have wanted me to be the only one at the moment.”
“Let’s hope I’m not the only one soon, Valencia CF can perfectly get the win against United.”
Leeds United fans will be thinking just the same as Hernandez.
