According to claims in Italy, Apoel Nicosia have made an offer for Chievo Verona forward Caleb Ekuban. The player has been linked with a move to Leeds United this week.

Calcio News have reported several clubs have taken an interest in Ekuban, including English sides. It’s been claimed Apoel Nicosia are now leading the way to sign the Italian born Ghanaian, and that after discussions the Cypriot champions have tabled a bid.

This offer will now be evaluated by Chievo Verona, and a decision will be made soon by the Serie A side. Earlier this week we covered reports Leeds United were leading the way to sign Ekuban after the youngster impressed on loan with Partizani Tirana last season.

The 23-year-old scored 23 goals for the Albanian side during the last campaign, which brought him to the attention of Leeds United and other clubs.

The Championship side are likely to bring in forward or two this summer after relying on Chris Wood throughout last season, and Ekuban remains a possibility.
