Italian website Tutto Mercato Web continue following Jaap Stam’s situation at Reading very closely.

Earlier this week, the outlet already claimed the manager and the club board had scheduled a meeting to decide his future. And although the new ownership wanted the Dutchman to stay, he would have a few doubts about the new project, with new demands to be made as well.

On Friday, TMW had an update saying Reading have already made a renewal offer. They would like to extend Stam’s contract for two more years. Meanwhile, he would be evaluating the possibilities of joining Leeds United and Burnley as well. Yesterday, the manager’s agent Henk van Ginkel has already confirmed that he’s not taking charge of Ajax, despite some rumours.

The Burnley opportunity would only become available if someone swoops for Sean Dyche, but Leeds United have an opportunity ready and waiting. With a managerial seat empty for what fans believe is too long, Leeds United are under pressure to get someone signed up.

Stam is currently on holiday, but has already got aware of the renewal offer and is thinking about it. The general feeling is that he’s going to accept it, but someone, perhaps an agent, is clearly pushing out rumours, and dragging Leeds United and Burnley into it.
