Whilst away on international duty, Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has revealed he thinks highly of the club’s owner Massimo Cellino. The Leeds United chief bought the club in 2014, but has come under attack from some fans because of the way he’s run things since coming to England.

In an interview with Fotbollskanalen, Jansson was asked about his relationship with Cellino, and how he found the Italian. The Sweden international said at Leeds United Cellino is the king, and believes he is a nice person, despite the negative reports he receives in the British media.

Jansson has only met Cellino a few times, but revealed he was being tracked by him when the Italian was president of Cagliari.

“He is the king. I’ve only met him a few times, and I had a longer talk with him before I came here. Really, really lovely person. He is typical Italian. He has liked me since he was in Cagliari and he had a great relationship with my coach in Torino,” said the 25-year-old on his boss.

Jansson joined Leeds United on loan during the summer, but the Championship side can make the deal permanent if certain criteria is met. Jansson has yet to make his league debut for the club, but was on the bench during the defeat to Nottingham Forest.
