Leeds United manager Garry Monk has today confirmed Gaetano Berardi will only be available to him next month. The Swiss national has been sidelined since the opening day of the season after picking up an injury against Queens Park Rangers.
Garry Monk has confirmed in his press conference today ahead of this weekend’s game with Ipswich Town that Berardi will only return to the team after the international break at the start of October.
The Leeds United boss said it was great to see Berardi back in training, but explained he’s got a long way to go before he regains his fitness.
“Great to see him back but he has a lot of work to do. Realistically he’s looking at other side of the international break,” said Monk on his fullback.
Berardi has been plagued with injuries in recent months, and had to sit out Leeds United’s pre-season games. Despite returning to the side for the loss to QPR, the 28-year-old was substituted early on with a hamstring injury.
