Leeds United ‘continue in search for an agreement’ – Whites pushing for signing

As the Italian media continues to speak of Leeds United’s interest in Willy Gnonto, it’s Tuttosport who today share some information on this pursuit.

Their story first speaks about the competition for the Zurich player. It’s said Hoffenheim were the first to appear, but considered the requests too high. Then Feyenoord showed up in the race as well.

When speaking of Leeds, Tuttosport claims that after putting Gnonto ‘in their sights’, the Whites have been in talks with the Swiss club as they ‘continue in search of an agreement’.

Earlier this week, we’d already covered claims from the Italian media which said the Elland Road side decided to ‘intensify’ the talks for the youngster, as they must beat the competition from Feyenoord to get it done.

Regarding the price for the move, it had first been claimed that Zurich would demand €8-10m, and then it was said Leeds were pushing to pay just €4-5m.

That means the price for the transfer seems unclear for now, but with many outlets reporting the talks, it now seems clear that the Whites are engaged in winning the race and getting the signing done.
