Leeds United owner 49ers Enterprises are in the process of adding Rangers to their stable.
Last month, Rangers confirmed talks with the consortium led by the current Leeds owners to take over the club. Claims from the UK have stated the deal should be completed before June.
Meanwhile, Rangers are in the process of appointing a new permanent manager for next season.
Tuesday’s edition of AS claims Leeds’ connection with the Scottish club could help attract Real Madrid assistant manager Davide Ancelotti. It’s a route to the Premier League league for the ambitious young manager.
The Italian is currently part of Carlo Ancelotti’s staff at Real Madrid and his father will leave Los Blancos to become the next Brazil manager.
AS state Davide is close to joining Rangers and is set to take Carlo’s assistant, Francesco Mauri, and fitness coach, Giovanni Mauri, to Ibrox.
The 35-year-old has received offers from elsewhere, including Saudi Arabia. Despite this, he’s very attracted to the Rangers project under 49ers.
The newspaper states he believes Rangers’ ‘offer is the one that guarantees him the best future.’ This includes a strong project with European football and a potential step to the Premier League in the future.
AS add Como are pushing behind the scenes to snatch him from Rangers’ clutches.
Over at Marca, they state Davide has received approaches from Spain, Scotland, England, Italy, Portugal and Germany.
He and his entourage feel that among all these options, they prefer Rangers as they think it fits the best. Therefore, the Scottish club are best placed, ahead of Como, to appoint Davide Ancelotti as their next manager.
Marca insists the final decision hasn’t been made yet, but Rangers are currently the best-placed club.
