It’s looking very likely Ternana forward Felipe Avenatti will leave the Serie B side on a free transfer in the summer. The 23-year-old has just six months left on his current deal, and has been linked with a move to Leeds United.
Ternana News have revealed Avenatti and his teammate César Falletti are likely to leave for nothing in the summer. Both Uruguayans have yet to be offered a contract extension by the Ternana leaders, and even their coach Benito Carbone is becoming resigned to the fact he’s about to lose his two key players.
The former Leeds United coach was quizzed at the weekend about the futures of the two forwards, and the Italian was unable to give a guarantee they would be at the club next season.
These latest developments on Avenatti’s future will put interested clubs on alert, including Leeds United. The Championship side made an approach for Avenatti in the last window, and not for the first time they failed in their attempts to sign him.
However, this time around it could be different for Leeds United as in the past Avenatti has always shown a desire to remain with Ternana. It now seems Avenatti is ready to move, with Leeds United and Serie A clubs as options for the attacker.
