It really seemed like a great signing when Leeds United paid €30m to get Rodrigo from Valencia last summer.
With the striker showing his quality in Spain for years, it was time to give him a chance in the Premier League and see how he’d do.
However, after 21 appearances for the Whites, all Rodrigo has is three goals and one assist. That’s enough to start getting worried about his transfer.
Spanish outlet Fichajes brings today a story on the 29-year-old, and they’re not afraid of already labelling the move as a ‘disaster’.
After showing his numbers, the website writes that the striker is ‘having a season to forget’, especially due to his injuries and irregularity.
However, Fichajes also points out with Leeds’ stay in the Premier League ‘practically guaranteed’ for the next season, he’ll perhaps get the chance for a ‘redemption’ at the Premier League side.
Rodrigo is currently out of Leeds United’s squad as he recovers from a groin injury. His contract with the Whites runs until 2024.
