Leeds United will have to pay at least €35m if they wish to sign Matheus Cunha from Hertha Berlin this summer.

That’s according to BILD, who say the Brazilian’s future at the German club is ‘unclear’ at this moment in time.

Leeds have long been credited with an interest in the forward, with it reported towards the end of last month that they had intensified talks after Marcelo Bielsa asked for his signing.

Hertha have long made it clear they do not wish to sell unless it is for the right price, with new director of football Fredi Bobic reiterating that stance yesterday.

“If he wants to move on, then only if the economic conditions are right,” he told Kicker.

“It’s very simple: either you commit completely and dig in – or you bring something that makes sense.”

BILD have now followed up on that statement with a report of their own, stating that it ‘remains to be seen’ whether Cunha will return to Berlin this summer.

He’s set to go to the Olympic Games in August but could be sold before that if the club were to receive the right offer.

Hertha are ‘willing to talk’ from €35m, meaning that’s the price any interested suitors, including Leeds, will have to offer up if they want a deal to happen.

Whether Bielsa and co will be willing to pay that remains to be seen, but the price has at least been set if they decide to make a concrete bid.
