As Salernitana continue with their chase for Leeds United youngster Leo Fuhr Hjelde, they keep trying to convince the Whites to accept his summer move.
Outlet TuttoSalernitana today features a story describing all the businesses that the Serie A side have still been working on.
Regarding Hjelde, the website claims that as Salernitana insist in talks for the signing, the toughest job is to find an agreement with Leeds, whose response is ‘expected’ soon.
The ‘distance’ between clubs is about the formula. The English club want the fullback sold for €2m, while the Italian side want a loan deal.
Salernitana are said to have a ‘minimum budget’ to spend in the last days of the summer window, and don’t want to match Leeds’ request for the move.
Hjelde made two appearances for the Whites this season, but ended up staying out of their last two matches in the Championship.
Previous claims from the Italian media said the player was on board with the operation, but it seems Leeds continue to be tough in the negotiations.
It’s been said the Whites already turned down a loan with an option to buy for €1.5m, and will apparently keep their €2m request. We shall see if any of the clubs will bend in the final days of the window.
