With Leeds United unable to stay in the Premier League, a number of players are looking elsewhere to find a team that won’t be playing second-tier football.

One of those is Marc Roca, who has a desire to return to Spain, where Real Betis have been pushing to get a deal over the line.

The latest update on the matter comes from El Chiringuito, through their journalist Gonzalo Tortosa, who revealed some interesting news.

He explained that the Leeds player’s exit from Elland Road will take place on loan, but it will ‘include an option to buy’.

The deal itself ‘will be official in the coming weeks’, suggesting everyone is in agreement over this, and our best guess is Betis are still trying to wrap up the sale of William Carvalho first before finalising the arrival of the Spaniard, as had already been suggested elsewhere.

Down the player’s end, the Leeds midfielder ‘has made a great financial effort’ to be able to go to Betis, as the club are well known to have struggled in that department for some time, showing just how much he wants to leave Elland Road this summer.

Whether he returns there at the end of the coming season remains to be seen, but a good campaign and an affordable option to buy could be all he needs to secure a permanent departure from Leeds in the next 12 months.
