Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla is a potential target for Spanish side Granada as they target a new number one this summer.
That’s according to Grada3, who say Casilla is one of two names to have ‘come to the fore’ at the club in the last few hours.
They explain that with the departure of Luis Maximiano to Lazio and Aarón Escandell to Cartagena, Granada need to find a new goalkeeper in this transfer window.
Casilla is one of the names they are looking at after he spent last season on loan at Elche from Leeds.
His current contract ties him to Elland Road until 2023, but he doesn’t appear to have a future at Leeds, with his last appearance for the first team coming in a 3-0 defeat to Blackpool in the league cup in November 2020.
Indeed, Grada3 suggest that his contract could be terminated this year rather than waiting for it to expire next year.
That would then leave Granada free to sign him without having to negotiate anything with Leeds.
Whether that happens remains to be seen, but it seems Casilla is on the list at the Spanish club, so this could be one to keep an eye on moving forwards.
