Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto has refused to reveal what his next ‘dream’ in football is, having already secured one with a place in Italy’s team.

The forward has been speaking to Sport Mediaset regarding his career so far, life in the national set up and what may lie ahead for him.

It’s been a busy summer for the Italian, who tried his hardest to secure a move away from Leeds United for much of the summer window but was ultimately unsuccessful in his attempts to do so.

He’s now been reintegrated into the squad after being kicked out by Daniel Farke and will be spending the next few months helping Leeds’ efforts to get out of the Championship at the first time of asking.

Fortunately for him relegation has not harmed his international prospects, with the Leeds man again a part of the senior squad for the recent international break.

He added appearances 12 and 13 to his collection in games against North Macedonia and Ukraine. His number of caps are rising quickly after he made his debut against Germany in April last year, something he says was a dream come true.

“Dreams? Making my debut with the national team was the biggest one, the dream of all children who start playing, and I was lucky enough to realise it very early,” he said.

“But I have many other goals and I hope of being able to achieve them all over the course of my career.

“It’s difficult to say where I can improve, I think in everything. I have many strengths, but many more flaws. I know I also have a lot of time to grow, and I try to do it every day.”
