Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca, currently on loan at Real Betis, has revealed his delight at finding out he was on Spain’s pre-list for the next international break.
The midfielder has been approached by El Desmarque at the end of Betis training today after the announcement of the squad.
Earlier today we covered a report on how the Leeds man has impressed for Betis at the beginning of the season since arriving on loan from Leeds in the summer.
He only managed a year at Elland Road following a move from Bayern Munich last summer but struggled to impress as they were relegated.
He then took the chance to depart this season, using a clause in his contract to depart on loan, with Betis happy to take him.
He’s been a key player for Manuel Pellegrini at the beginning of this season and those performances being noticed by Spain boss Luis de la Fuente.
El Desmarque say the Leeds loanee being included was ‘one of the big surprises’ of the list, so they approached him after Betis’ training session today to ask his feelings on the matter.
They say his ‘face changed in a moment’ when asked on the subject before he smiled and told them that ‘he had found out recently and that he was very happy’.
Whether he ends up in the actual squad now remains to be seen, with it explained earlier that competition for places is fierce.
Still, it seems the midfielder is back smiling and happy after his time at Elland Road, with the choice to leave definitely working out so far.
