Leeds United are ‘in the lead’ for Torino defender Ola Aina but will need to pay €5-6m to secure his signature.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who say the full-back’s ‘erratic’ performances since joining the Italian side have led them to being open to a departure.
They explain that Aina has always ‘alternated’ between good performances and more fragile ones and while he has usually made a positive contribution somehow, the lack of consistency has caused doubts.
He has also been dealing with a muscle injury that is unresolved to this day, something which halted his progress and allowed others to establish themselves ahead of him.
That has opened the door to a transfer and the ‘the call of the Premier League’ has always been strong for the player.
At this point it is Leeds who are interested and Aina is ‘destined’ to make a move, aiming at a transfer this month that would allow Torino to ‘cash in’ on him after three years.
All in all, Torino are looking for ‘around €8m’ for their man, lower figure than expected as his contract is due to expire and Torino chief Davide Vagnati would prefer to get a fee than lose him on a free.
With that in mind, though, and no interest in an extension, it is ‘conceivable’ that the Italian side would sell for €5-6m and Leeds are ‘interested in the deal’ at that figure.
