The Italian media today shares more updates on Leeds United’s pursuit for FC Zurich striker Wilfried Gnonto.
This time, the story comes from outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, who claims there’s now a particular battle between two clubs for the signing.
It’s claimed the interest from Leeds United, ‘of the president Andrea Radrizzani’, is already ‘confirmed’, but they face the competition from Feyenoord, who seem to have come back for the signing.
The chase from the Dutch side had already been commented in the past few days, but now it’s highlighted that ‘in these hours’, they resurfaced in the tussle.
For now, it isn’t said how much Leeds or Feyenoord would like to spend on the signing, but it’s made clear that Zurich demand at least €8m to let Gnonto go this summer.
Even though TuttoMercatoWeb points out that there are Italian clubs who’d also like to sign him, it’s said that the ‘concrete proposals are coming from abroad’, with the English and the Dutch side looking as clear favourites to land the 18-year-old this summer.
