Two years ago, Leeds United were keen on signing Noel Törnqvist and Mjällby AIF sporting director Hasse Larsson confirmed their interest at that time.
In October 2023, the goalkeeper said he was happy and proud about Leeds United interest and also talked about his dream of moving to England.
Last month, we covered claims from Sweden which stated Leeds won’t give up on the 23-year-old, despite failing to sign him in January. On June 2nd, the stopper sounded thrilled about claims the Whites want him this summer.
Alfredo Pedullà has now stated clubs in Italy and England have the Swede on their ‘shopping list’ for this summer.
Parma, Empoli and Cremonese are Törnqvist’s suitors from Italy. Daniel Farke’s side and a few other Championship clubs, including Charlton Athletic [who secured promotion to the second division], like him in England.
The player has a contract lasting until December 2026, and the journalist reports his valuation is around €2m plus bonuses. This is certainly affordable for the Elland Road club.
Leeds have long been chasing Törnqvist, who dreams of a move to England. The Whites will play in the Premier League next season and these are factors that give them an edge over other interested parties.
