Leeds United and West Ham United are in the picture to sign Blackburn Rovers star Ben Brereton Díaz, according to reports.

The forward managed 22 goals and three assists from 37 league matches last season and signed a new deal at Ewood Park in May. His new contract expires in 2023 and he is now ‘awaiting an offer’ to leave Rovers.

That’s according to AS, who state clubs that showed interest in the 23-year-old did not make any proposals to sign him so far.

From the Chile international’s entourage, the newspaper found out that two clubs have recently been in touch and they are Leeds and West Ham.

The first Premier League side to ‘ask again’ about the attacker are the Whites. They have been interested in him from Marcelo Bielsa’s time at Elland Road.

Having made contact in the past, Jesse Marsch’s side approached Brereton’s camp again, after the sale of Raphinha to Barcelona. The Hammers have also asked for information about the attacker and consider him an alternative to Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca.

At the moment, both Leeds and West Ham have only ‘consulted’, whatever that means, without making any formal offers to Blackburn. This worries those close to the player as they feel his decision to sign a new deal with Rovers has not turned out well for him so far.
