Leeds United fans, let’s take you back to January, back when Marcelo Bielsa was still your manager.
The Argentine still seemed to be looking to the future, and one of the names linked with a move to Elland Road at the time was Brenden Aaronson.
The 21-year-old, currently at RB Salzburg, was reportedly the subject of some offers from Leeds, but those were rejected, since the Austrian club wanted to keep him.
Since then, Jesse Marsch has taken over at Elland Road, and has started to slowly turn things around, but that doesn’t mean targets have changed.
Update #Aaronson: He still wants to leave Salzburg in summer. Negotiations with Leeds are still ongoing. RB rejected offers from #LUFC in winter. But they still want him! It is said that Leeds is the favourite. Price tag: €25-30m. No release clause. Big talent! @SkySports 🇺🇸

According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Leeds ‘still want’ the USA international, and are reportedly ‘the favourite’ to sign the attacking midfielder.
Whether Marsch’s presence in the Elland Road dugout has anything to do with this isn’t said, but it’s pointed out any transfer would involve a price tag of €25-30m, and there is ‘no release clause’ in his contract with Salzburg.
On a personal level, it’s said Aaronson’s negotiations with Leeds are ‘still ongoing’, and it’s made clear the player ‘wants to leave’ in the summer.
Let’s see if those talks are successful then.
