Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen a handful of stories suggesting that Leeds United could make a move for Nahitan Nández.
The Cagliari midfielder has been a target of Marcelo Bielsa’s for quite some time, and with a €36m release clause in his contract with the Serie A side, it would be a fairly straightforward, if not a bit expensive, transfer.
That being said, there will be obstacles, with Calciomercato.it explaining that Inter are also interested in the player.
With Antonio Conte having left and Simone Inzaghi expected to be coming in, the recent champions will have changed targets, and it appears Nández is on his list.
That means Leeds are going to deal with Champions League competition for the signing of a player who could be the one Bielsa has been looking for all this time, never getting the central midfield reinforcement he wanted.
We’ll have to see what comes of this, but as previously reported, the Elland Road side could have an advantage thanks to Andrea Radrizzani, whose relationship with Tommaso Giulini, the Cagliari owner and president, is said to be ‘optimal’.
