Leeds United have again ‘expressed interest’ in Club Brugge forward Noa Lang as he looks set to leave the Belgian side this summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say Leeds are seen as the main competitors to AC Milan for Lang’s signature at the end of the season.
The website explains that Lang was busy putting himself in the spotlight again this week with an impressive performance in his side’s defeat to Benfica in the Champions League.
That saw him earn plenty of plaudits and it is clear that the player is now ‘aiming for a further leap in quality’ with a move this summer.
It was something he eyed throughout last summer and he was close to several clubs, including Leeds and AC Milan. The latter, though, elected to sign Charles de Ketelaere.
However there is a feeling they could ‘return to the charge’ at the end of this season, particularly if Rafa Leao ends up departing. Lang is seen as the perfect replacement for him, at least on paper.
They know they will have to reckon with ‘numerous competitors’, though, and that will ‘first and foremost’ be Leeds who have ‘expressed interest’ in a transfer once again.
They would be at a slight disadvantage in a battle with Milan as the Italian side have a good relationship with their Flemish counterparts and would look to work that to their advantage.
Leeds are in the picture nonetheless, though, so it may be wise to gear up for another summer of them being linked with a move for Lang.
