Leeds United’s demands for defender Max Wöber are still holding a potential permanent exit from Elland Road this summer.

That’s according to Rheinische Post, who cover the player today and how he’s set to return to Leeds on July 1st as talks over a permanent exit are going nowhere.

The defender spent this season on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach and was a regular for them throughout the campaign.

They’re interested in a permanent deal, but Leeds’ demands are proving to be a problem for the Germans at this moment in time.

RP continue that thread today, explaining that it is not currently ‘realistic’ to expect that Borussia will be able to sign the Austrian permanently.

They’re only interested in a ‘high single-digit’ million sum to sign the defender at most, but Leeds’ demands are significantly higher than that and so talks are at a standstill.

This is something Wöber himself has admitted, commenting earlier this month that he hadn’t heard anything about a potential permanent transfer to the German club.

That appears to be because of Leeds’ demands, which need to come down significantly if there is to be any progress on the matter.
