Leeds United chief Victor Orta has insisted the leadership at the club are working to ensure they stay in the Premier League this season.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have endured a difficult second season back in the top flight since their glorious return last year.
While they flew high last season and ended up finishing ninth courtesy of their entertaining style, this year has been a different story.
A combination of injuries and Bielsa’s refusal to postpone games due to COVID has seen them blooding youngsters in the first team throughout the campaign and subsequently struggling for points.
They current sit 15th in the table but just five points from Watford in 18th place and have lost three of their last five games.
There is a growing concern Leeds could be pulled into the relegation mix if things continue, particularly after a weekend that saw Watford and Burnley pick up vital wins and Newcastle take a point off of Champions League-chasing West Ham.
But Orta has looked to ease the tension, insisting everyone at the club is working to make things better and sharing his belief they will be okay.
“We are at that moment when the bad ball with rivals comes a little again,” he told COPE.
“It’s a week of passion, Manchester on Sunday, Liverpool tomorrow, and then Tottenham.
“We are doing well enough, but not enough with the sensations. All of the leadership are working, and I have the feeling that we will be safe.”
