On Monday, it was revealed that Liverpool were apparently taking an interest in Loïc Badé.

According to Le10 Sport, the Reds, in dire need of a centre-back, were ‘working behind the scenes’ for the RC Lens defender, but they could face some strong competition.

It was already mentioned in the same article that Milan were keen, but now Foot Mercato in France believe Leeds United are also looking at him.

The French outlet claim that while Milan like him a lot, Rennes and Lyon in France do too, while Borussia Mönchengladbach and Marcelo Bielsa’s side are ‘also on the case’.

The 20-year-old has been a key player in Lens’ return to Ligue 1, starting 16 out of a possible 18 games so far, and that’s why he isn’t planning on leaving in the coming weeks.

That could be a blow for Bielsa and co., who might have decided defensive reinforcements in January could be needed after their FA Cup embarrassment, but an exit next summer ‘seems more plausible’ when there will be even more interested parties if he continues to play how he has done.

We’ll see if Leeds try and convince Lens before the end of the month first, because that could save time and effort come July/August if they pull it off.
