After weeks of back and forth, it appears that Leeds have finally agreed to sell Raphinha to Barcelona.
This comes from Marca in Spain, who report there is an ‘agreement’ between the two clubs for fee that ‘will be around €55m + variables’.
It’s said ‘the English club have accepted the formal offer’ that the La Liga side ‘presented at mid-morning’ on Tuesday.
The two clubs were reportedly in talks over the fee for the past few days, and while they were ‘talking about a price that rangers from €50-55m fixed and €15-20m in variables’, the reality is ‘the fixed fee is higher and the variables smaller’.
Down their end, Leeds, ‘who wanted payment guarantees from the Barcelona club, will collect this amount in the period of one year’.
Raphinha is expected to ‘sign for the next five season, and his arrival is perfectly compatible with the renewal of Ousmane Dembélé’.
While Leeds received offers from Premier League clubs, ‘Barcelona always had the advantage’ as the Brazilian wanted to join the La Liga giants above the rest, which is why he waited and waited to get what he wanted.
