At Sport Witness we normally turn our nose up to ‘leaks’ going around social media, mainly through the fear of having egg on our faces when it invariably turns out to be nonsense.
But Monday brings something different.
According to a leaked image, being carried by Marca and many others, the Ballon d’Or results are in. Liverpool Mohamed Salah is the highest placed Premier League player, in 6th position.
Eden Hazard is next for English football, with Chelsea player finishing 8th, then comes Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne in 9th, and Harry Kane makes up the Top 10.
N’Golo Kante just missed out, in 11th, with his former Chelsea teammate Thibaut Courtois in 14th.
The reason this list is worth paying attention to, and in our considered opinion the real thing, is that it’s a page of France Football, due to be released later tonight.
And, so far, with the announcements up to 17th, all the list has been correct.
