It’s very rare for Sport Witness to have great news about Wolverhampton Wanderers these days, and Friday June 30th is no different.
Unfortunately, another player has caught the eye of a prestigious club, as Serie A winners Napoli are considering a move for Max Kilman to replace Kim Min-jae.
This comes courtesy of Corriere dello Sport, who look at who the Serie A side could target in the next few weeks once the South Korean’s transfer to Bayern Munich is complete.
The Bavarian side are expected to trigger the defender’s release clause in the coming days, meaning Napoli will soon have money to spend, and could turn their attention to Wolves.
The 26-year-old has just come out of a great season with the Premier League side, playing a key part under both Bruno Lage and Julen Lopetegui, where he made 41 appearances in all competitions.
His size is what has caught Napoli’s eye, with Corriere dello Sport describing him as a left-footed ‘giant who made a name for himself’ at Wolves, standing at 1,94m (compared to Kim’s 1,90m).
However, they do add the Premier League club will not let him go for cheap, stating he would cost an ‘(un)modest sum of £30m’.
That seems a bit on the low side, if you ask us, as it seems unlikely that Lopetegui will want to part with one of his key players, especially after the recent sale of Ruben Neves.
