According to Turkish newspaper Karar, Trabzonspor are interested in signing Chelsea’s young midfielder Conor Gallagher.
It’s reported the Turkish club will continue to commit to their transfer strategy in signing players from England. Trabzonspor brought in Caleb Ekuban and Alexander Sorloth from Leeds United and Crystal Palace last summer, and both players have been successful signings.
Karar say Trabzonspor assistant manager Eddie Newton, who was a Chelsea coach before joining the Karadeniz Firtinasi, is a big admirer of Gallagher and knows the 20 year old very well.
The Super Lig leaders’ intention is to loan Gallagher for next season, and they will commence talks with Chelsea in the near future.
Gallagher started this campaign at Charlton Athletic but he switched to fellow Championship side Swansea City in the January transfer window.
He’s made 36 appearances in the Championship this season, scoring six goals and assisting nine. His contract at Stamford Bridge will expire at the end of June 2022.
