Tottenham Hotspur’s new ground, which is set to be finished in 2018 has been described as the ‘the last wonder of London’ by the Spanish media. The North London team will move out of White Hart Lane at the end of this season as construction continues on their new stadium.
Sport have reported on Tottenham building their new ground adjacent to White Hart Lane, which they describe as one of the best stadiums in the world. The Spanish newspaper is clearly impressed by Tottenham’s ambition both on and off the pitch, and they feel the club is on the verge of something very special.
The Premier League side’s new construction will enable 61,000 fans to watch Tottenham, which is a huge increase from the current 36,000 capacity of White Hart Lane. It’s pointed out this will make the stadium the second biggest in London behind Wembley, a clear Spurs plan which is having the desired impact in terms of coverage.
Sport believe this will allow Tottenham to make a huge leap in the Premier League as this allow them to bring in more finances to compete with the other major clubs in England.
With Tottenham moving out of White Hart Lane in a few months they will be based at Wembley for next season, which does have its concerns.
The Premier League side took the decision to hold their European games at Wembley this season, but they didn’t have much success.
Poor performances saw Tottenham eliminated from the Champions League and then the Europa League, and they will need to address this for next season when Wembley becomes their permanent home.
