Even Christmas Day doesn’t see an end to Coutinho claims in the Catalan media, and Sport are full of optimism over the potential January transfer.
In their Monday edition, the Catalan newspaper say Barcelona are moving carefully over the potential Liverpool transfer, but ‘can’t hide’ their optimism that they’re finally getting close to a deal for the Brazilian.
Liverpool are now said to be ‘open’ to a sale in the winter market, and that’s something Sport state is new… despite claiming the same thing on previous occasions. Even so, it’s reported the price will be ‘high, very high’ and there’s no sign of compromise there from the Anfield club.
Sport state there’ll be a ‘last push’ on the transfer over the coming days, with Barcelona wanting to make a move during this busy period in Liverpool’s season.The advantages of that negotiating tactic aren’t explained, and it’s surely not the perfect time to be approaching Liverpool over Coutinho.
Sport clearly disagree, and perhaps it’s the Christmas spirit which has them full of renewed hope.
