Leeds United have been linked with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach’s Nico Elvedi over the past few weeks.

He was said to be a January target for the Whites but a move never went through. There was even an insistence that manager Daniel Farke was pushing to sign the defender.

BILD Rheinland have looked at the 28-year-old’s situation today, revealing that Glabach are preparing for an overhaul of their backline and this could see Elvedi depart in the summer transfer window.

The report claims that Elvedi wanted to head to England about 18 months ago and has harboured intentions of a move since then.

Wolves have previously tried to sign him but Leeds United could now have the chance to land the Switzerland man.

After the move to Wolves didn’t go through, Elvedi signed a new deal at Gladbach to make sure that he gets regular game time at the German club. It’s stated the summer of 2025 could be the ‘last chance to fulfil his dream’.

The versatile defender played 34 times under Farke during the Leeds United boss’ time at Gladbach. It remains to be seen if this can help the Whites land Elvedi in the summer, with the player’s current deal running out in the summer of 2026.
