The Paul Pogba deal seems to be edging closer and closer by the day despite what the Spanish press would try and have you believe.

It seems Marca and AS are doing their utmost to make things even more frustrating for Manchester United fans as they come up with stories aimed towards making Real Madrid look good.

Of course, this is quite far from what is being reported in Italy, with La Stampa restoring all the hope on Wednesday with a little box amid a huge article on Higuain.

Headline? “Pogba to United pretty much done”.

News regarding the biggest transfer in the history of football seems so benign to them that you would think the deal happening is but a formality.

That’s what they make it sound like, as La Stampa report that Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, met with Beppe Marotta in Milan on Tuesday to discuss the final details of the transfer, with only the payment structure to be sorted out.

The deal will allegedly add up to €115m, with €15m of that going to the agent and the remaining €100m ending up in Juventus’ bank account.

The Italian newspaper add that the Serie A club will call Ed Woodward either on Wednesday or Thursday to sort out the final details and formalise the deal.

As La Stampa put it, getting Pogba on a free and selling him for €100m is the deal of the century.

You can’t really argue with that, can you?
