Loic Remy signed for Crystal Palace on loan from Chelsea during the summer transfer window, but a thigh injury has ruled him out of action until late November, in another injury blow for the French footballer.

Remy has another couple of years left on his contract at Chelsea, but Crystal Palace have the option to sign him permanently next summer. However, according to a report on Spanish website Super Deporte, Valencia made efforts to sign Remy during the summer transfer window.

Valencia’s director of sport Garcia Pitarch was in London in August, to work out a deal for Remy, but former Valencia boss Pako Ayestaran wasn’t too keen.

Interestingly, it’s been reported Valencia also tried to sign Christian Benteke, who also ended up signing for Crystal Palace this summer.

Remy would now be hoping to put his injury concerns behind him, and revive his career at Crystal Palace. A permanent transfer will be very much dependent on what happens between Remy’s return and the end of the season.
