As Newcastle United continue with their pursuit of Atletico Madrid fullback Renan Lodi, it seems there could be some developments in the coming days.
According to Brazilian journalist André Hernan, there’ll be a meeting between the Magpies and the player himself this week. It’s said the deal ‘could’ happen.
Without further info, the reporter only claims Newcastle are working to have a stronger team for next season.
This isn’t the first time Hernan talks about the Magpies’ chase for Lodi. Last week, on his Youtube channel, he’d already been claiming that the ‘negotiation is ongoing and the talks are happening’ for the move.
Newcastle’s interest in the fullback had also been reported by the Spanish and Italian media, with claims saying he could arrive at St. James’ Park for a €25m fee.
Lodi has a big friendship with Magpies’ star Bruno Guimarães, and that’s seen as another factor to convince him to make the move.
