Arriving from Brondby to Real Betis in the summer, Riza Durmisi is having a rather impressive season in La Liga.

The 23-year-old was signed for a relatively small fee of £1.7m, and his performances have since attracted interest from far bigger clubs, including Liverpool in the Premier League.

Having had to use James Milner at left-back for most of the season due to a severe lack of faith in Alberto Moreno’s ability in the role, Jürgen Klopp has openly been looking for players in that position, like Olympique Lyonnais’ Jordy Gaspar.

Durmisi, who was giving a press conference ahead of Real Betis’ game against Espanyol on Friday evening, was asked about the rumours regarding a move to Anfield, which the player addressed directly.

He said: “It means I’m playing well, but it isn’t something I’m interested in. What interest me is when the team plays well and wins. That’s what I like. but when Liverpool and other big clubs show interest, of course it’s good, but the main thing for me is Betis.”

The Denmark international has made 22 appearances for the Spanish side this season, scoring one goal and picking up three assists in all competitions.

Durmisi is reported to have a £17m release clause in his contract, which Betis would be likely to want triggered in the summer if anyone were to try and sign their new star, and while Klopp ruled out signing a left-back in January (he was true to his word), the summer transfer window is a whole different kettle of fish.
