Ronald Koeman speaking to the Catalan media isn’t a great deal of fun for Everton fans, given he usually makes comments about his dream to manage Barcelona. When it becomes much more palatable for the Goodison faithful, is Koeman recommending a Liverpool star could be a good signing for Barca.
Philippe Coutinho has been repeatedly linked with a switch from Liverpool to Barcelona, but Jurgen Klopp is keen to keep hold of the Brazilian for as long as possible. The Catalan media believe Barcelona would look kindly upon the signing, but the problem would be money, both in terms of wages and transfer fee.
Mundo Deportivo has asked Koeman if Coutinho could succeed at Barcelona should the transfer eventually go through, the Everton manager was positive about the prospect: “He is a great player, I also think he could fit in well at Barca. It all depends on many factors and his adaptation. But, without a doubt, he can count on quality.”
A big Barcelona move for Coutinho is perhaps unlikely this summer, especially given the amount Liverpool would want.
A good season next time around for the Brazilian could change things, and Koeman, whether he’s at Everton or Barcelona, would surely be keen on a Coutinho transfer happening.
