Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim Ronald Koeman is one of four possibilities in the final stages to become Barcelona manager.

Since Luis Enrique announced he was leaving Barca at the end of the season the Catalan media have been concentrated on will replace him, and Everton’s Koeman has been mentioned repeatedly.

Although he’s never appeared to be a frontrunner, Mundo Deportivo say Koeman has made it to the final round, along with Ernesto Valverde of Athletic Club Bilbao, Enrique’s Barcalona assistant Juan Carlos Unzué, and Eusebio Sacristán of Real Sociedad.

Koeman is through to the final stage because of his connections with the club, according to Mundo Screen Shot 2017-03-22 at 07.18.56Deportivo, and it’s believed he’d have a big enough personality to deal with the job, and command respect from Barcelona’s galaxy of superstars.

It’s probably not reason for Everton to panic just yet, with there being no attempt to push Koeman out ahead of the others. Barcelona won’t fancy fighting with Everton for Koeman or paying more compensation then they likely would have to in Spain.
